Informations in English language

The common process to install a spatial data infrastructure for the states Berlin and Brandenburg aims to force the usage of spatial data. Herefore common legal conditions, technical architectures, transparency about spatial informations and some organisation tasks must be planed and executed.

In this sence the actors work after the following dictums:

  1. The community thought
This infrastructure will be designed by all actors. This infrastructure is benefical to all authorities. Central Components will only be created if necessary.

  2. The coordination thought
The infrastructure will be corperately build up step-by-step. Basis for developments are collective designed standards, interfaces and contents to create synergy effects.

  3. Local responsibility
The responsibility to create, maintenance and distribute the data is in charge of every member. The infrastucture only supports them in education, information exchange, IPR and software tools.

  4. Standards and Profils
We will only support standards, specifications or profils from the organisations ISO, W3C, OGC, the german SDI and the our SDI. Admentments or additional functions will be placed back in superior organisation if possible.

  5. Web service & metadata without exclusivness
Inside our SDI all spatial data should be free to use above spatial web service. All spatial data, web services and applications are listed in a common catalogue, called GeoMIS. Legends, terminologies and conditions of granting access will be adjusted together. We do not want exclusive contracts with organisations outside our SDI.

  6. Agreements
An actor must inform the comunity before he will start an individual development. He will include the requirements of other actors if possible.

  7. Free postusage
Basically all solutions and results of conceptual and technical developments are free in postusage for all authority actors (local or governmental) in our SDI.

  8. Application integration
The applications in our SDI must be completly integrated into the locally and governmental systems. For common presentations we use the domain berlin-brandenburg.de.

  9. Voluntary self-commitment
All actors of our SDI will support the commitments of these dictums.
